My car just died a half a mile away from my house. From the noise and burning smell, I think my beloved Beetle has burned up. I got to walk the rest of the way home in the dark and cold at 12:30 in the morning. Nice.
Oh no!! Maybe it can be saved and done cheap!!?? I hope so. What year is your little bug?
Oh man, that just stinks!
I hope your beetle is okay... and I'm very glad you weren't further from home!
Oh no!!! At least 1/2 a mile is better than a lot farther away from home. That is insult to injury at that time of the night (morning) after working hard. I hope your beloved beetle is only ill, not dead. I sure miss you.
Oh, no, that's terrible! Hopefully it's only slightly dead and can be fixed.
Oh my! I'm glad you are home ~ safe & sound!! At least you were close to home. PTL! Though beloved, I do hope that you will be able to get something newer and more dependable now.
How awful! Glad you made it home safe!
I cheated - I find ItalianGrotto so interesting I subscribed to her - and you all seem so clever, I just subscribed to the whole clan so I could laugh more every day. I am way up north in Iowa where it is very cold. I used to write alot, and more insightful like you guys. Then we had a little falling out at church over a 'kids say the darndest things' item I posted. I was verbally stoned. Brought to task by the Pastor's daughters who had X-rated lyrics on their sites but thought my kids humor was inappropriate so I stopped writing. Have just now started back at church after a LONG absence and thought maybe I should try getting back in the groove. Once you stop it is so hard to start again. It is even harder when the one place you felt accepted suddenly turns their back on you. I just thought maybe I would 'adopt' a few women that appear to really have their acts together. Always so positive.
Eeek! Not cool. Glad you made it home okay despite the bug letting you down.
oh crap!
i hate car probs... i feel your pain!
sorry, angel...i love you and will say a prayer that the beetle bug live again! [smile]
Sidney was listening to the same album you are this morning. --ryc: that would be a blast...we should plan it.
Boo!! It is never fun to have a car-dying/walking-home episode, let alone at that hour of night!! Glad you got home safely! How old is your bug? Old school or new? My mom and I had one when I was a baby, with rusted through floor. Classy.
ryc: yeah, my IRL friend KatieAJ doesn't do pumpkin, either. I will gladly eat your share - wish my family didn't enjoy it as much as they did so I could have theirs too!!
Um...young lady...did you have a cell phone? [tapping foot ] Sorry about your car, but I hope you are able to get something you enjoy to replace it.
'their life together' yeah well when related to moms/women it is kind of an oxymoron I guess. We usually spend so much time making sure everyone else has their life together (read: homework done, baths taken, voice lessons made, tkd classes taught) that who has time to check on their own sanity. Goes with the territory I guess.
Thanks for the positive words. Praying for good car news. One of the girls here just had hers fixed for free - lots of praying (their backup was rearended while parked).
You are very brave to walk home in the dark. Something we would beat our kids for doing.

[still shuddering about this]
