  • Great day at Raging Rivers.  Wendy, Maddie, Josh, Nick and I spent
the day there, and had a great time just hanging out - riding the
slides, floating in the endless river, bobbing about in the wavepool
and laying on lounge chairs in the sun.

Apparently, I did not apply the sunscreen liberally enough.  The entire front of my body now has a lovely lobster hue...

The shade of red will fade, but the memories made already more than make up for a little sunburn.

Have I mentioned lately how good it is for my heart having a friend
like Wendy so close in proximity?  So good.  While I am aware
that there are many who love me - so many who are dear to my heart -
they are all so far away...and I did not realize how much I was missing
someone to just hang out with and spend time with.  Someone to sit
and drink coffee with and to talk about nothing and everything - and
for it not to matter if the subject matters or not - to know that you
are being heard - face to face.  Thanks Wendy
[and A for the hook up! ;) ].  mtyek.

No pictures from today [ummmmm - not so secure that I will post
pictures of people - myself included - in swimsuits.  I shudder at
    the thought actually]....

I do have some pictures to share however...Friday was my nephew Alex's
[my brother Caleb and his wife Joannas third] one year birthday, and
the family came out in full force to celebrate.

I have put off putting up these pictures in hopes that I could figure
out how to use the new photo editing program on the computer - to at
least get the red eye out, but to no avail.  Sigh.  Please
    ignore the red eye...

    First the birthday boy.....Grrrrrrr......

    Random family shots -

    my niece Bethany...

Alex's big brother Michael, with my brother Jesse - he adores his uncle...

My nephew Ian [my sister Hannah and her husband John's son] showing off how flexible he is.   [check out the chili on his chin - he LOVED it]

The oldest four cousins [out of six with seven on
the way!] at dinner [with four little wiggling bodies, this was the
closest thing I got to a good shot]...

from Left to Right - David, Tabitha, Bethany, and Michael.

My sweet sister Jannah with Alex. [she is the best aunt in the world, and babysitter extraordinaire...]

My dad with two of my redneck [but so handsome] brothers.
L to R - Joe, Caleb [birthday boy's daddy], and my Dad...

    Cake time...

Before the mess - he was starting to get a bit sleepy, poor baby...

Then came his cake - not so sleepy anymore.

And then came the best part of all - the face plant [totally not staged or prompted btw]

I love this shot with his feet hooked up on the highchair tray.

All clean! [smooch - gotta love a tub shot]

This was my attempt to get a picture with the birthday boy - fresh out
of the tub, he was having none of it AT ALL.  Greased lightening,
this one.  I love how it looks like I am pinching the crap out of
    him - I promise I wasn't .

Happy Birthday Alex!  We are so blessed to have you in this family.  I love you!

  • reat post---what a cool family. yeah- it does indeed look like you are pinching the crap out of him...but if you were it'd look more like recent shots of Rex...so...we believe you.

    =)

you're a great: aunt [sister, daughter, friend]

  • ditto A..you are a great sister, daughter and especially friend...sorry you are burnt..i'm silly crispy myself..so much for kamikaze.  Know that I feel so blessed to have you in my life.

  • I love this post with the great pics.  You are an amazing girl!!  And you're right, your brothers are very cute.

  • love the family shots...i miss my family! that little guy is adorable!!

so glad of the new, wonderful friendship as well!

  • Cute pictures of the kids!

  • Ooooo, you are so lucky to get to hang with the Mucci clan. They make great memories! I miss them so much. Thanks for the prayers across cyberspace. Love your site! Those photos are precious. Seven on the way? Amazing. Sending up prayers for a peaceful heart.

  • RYC: Cole is the 2nd son of a family that failed to get the "word" that they shouldn't have more children. God rules and over rules ! Cole was a bit early , mother and child are great and praising God.

  • What a good looking family.  Your parents obviously have good genes.  Hey, I like your hair in the baby pinching shot.

    Love you dear.

  • Who is this Wendy??  I'm jealous of her ;)

  • Of COURSE I'm kidding!!  One of the great disadvantages of writing - you can't hear the humor sometimes ;)

  • Those kids are so cute! You are so pretty! I miss you!

  • Yay!! I can't wait to get your e-mail.
School doesn't start for Becca until Sept 5th. So, I have a 2 weeks from today. Uggghhh. I'm excited, yet sad at the same time. She's growing up and there's nothing I can do about it!! Oh, but the pride I have WAY out ways the sadness I feel over her getting bigger..... so I assume I will fair well that first day. Well, we'll see!

  • pinch! Your hair looks divine when it's all curly like that, btw.

  • Now to comment on your post:
    Have I told you lately how very JEALOUS I am of that Wendy gets to see you so much? So not fair. She's a lucky gal. I cherish our phone calls and e-mails.... but oh, it would be so nice to actually sit and have a cup of coffee and get to actually talk to you in person.   {Sigh}
I'm also jealous of your big family fun you guys always have. Man, that would be so cool! Family is so important to me, and I only get to see most of my family members once every 3 months or so.... and my brother like once a year. It would so awesome to do all the cool stuff you guys do together. When Becca gets older..... I wanna still have family day all the time (if she'll allow it!!), so that we never loose the closeness we had when she was at home. So cool.

  • Wow, it took me 7 minute to type that paragraph. That's embarrassing.
That comment was getting long, so I thought I'd break it down, one more time to say:
The bath tub shot - OH MY. What a cutie!! His eyes are so big and beautiful! A little heartbreaker in the making!
And I love you. Hope the rest of your week is very kind to you and that you find yourself laughing a whole lot. (To me, that would be a mark of a great week, to laugh a lot, so I wish the same for you, my sweet friend.)

  • hi friend, i missed you on gmail.  I thought of you lots today..hope your sunburn is fine...

  • Ahhh.... Ms Havah I've read so much about :)   Of course you're welcome to pop by any ol' time.  Seriously though... where did you hear that I like TMBG?  Do I have that posted somewhere?  LOL.  I'm baffled.  But YES!  I absolutely do.  And I give them a wee bit of credit for my marriage :)   A story for another day...

  • I love all the fun pics! Happy 1st B-day to Alex!!! I love the idea of making him his own personal cake, yummy! I love your curls! Gorgeous!!!
It is so nice to have a friend to do things with. Wendy sounds like one of those bosom friends!

  • Hi Havah!  I am now the rather shy proprietor of a Xanga site.  It might take me awhile to figure all this out!  I love you roomie!

  • You'll have to give me a little tutorial!  :)

  • Cute pics of the kiddos!

  • You're lucky to get to hang out w/ Wendy and KK... I've heard [read] a lot about you!
