  • As many of you know, my family loves competition and loves to play games.

With so many of us growing up, you can imagine that we all loved different games - which could make things hairy when trying to decide what to play.  Everyone wanted to play their favorite, which often caused conflict.

This all changed with the purchase of our first gaming system - the very first version of the Nintendo.

While there were many games to be played on the NES, we all fell in love with this game.

    Dr. Mario for Nintendo

Finally we had a game that we all agreed on - one that we were addicted to, really.

As much as we loved it, the NES soon went the way of all gaming systems - replaced by better, cooler models.

But Dr Mario has always remained a good memory for us.

Recently my sister and brother in love found one of these old school versions complete with the Dr Mario game and rekindled our addiction/love for the game.  They generously brought it over to our house and let us borrow it for a few days earlier this week...

Monday night after a day of travel and doctors appointments, I decided to go to bed early, but woke up close to midnight hearing noise in the living room.

I walked out to investigate and this is what I found.

Yes - that is in fact my PARENTS sitting on the living room floor like game junkies at MIDNIGHT.  Notice my little brother passed out on the floor behind them?  Did I mention that it was the middle of the night?  And they both had to be up early?

I just laughed and got the camera.

    I love my family.

  • hahaha! I love it. Your parents outplaying their son is the best part! Go them:)

  • that is great!!! we were into super nintento--mario cart specifically. i remember my DAD begging my MOM for me to get to stay up later so we could race one more cup fun stuff.

  • We're all highly competitive, too, though we never made it into the video game genre.  But board games... watch out!

  • What a fun family!  At least you come by the competetiveness (is that a word?) honestly.  What did the dr. say?

  • At the time that I set up my profile I didn't remember you place of residence though I did the fact. In January I went up there for a confrence and chickened out, after goin throught security, to ride up the arch. Now I sorta wish I had. Next time. Hopefully there is a next time. My friend Lou~Lou is going to up there sometime next week. She has a wedding in a corn field to attend. Her sisters are the flower girls. Mom made the bitty's dresses. They are quote cute. I'll post picture of my last photographic endeavor soon. Love ya & I'll tell mom. I think I might fit in with that family of yourn, one I got in the groove that is. It might scare me at first. LOL!
