  • yesterday my brother jesse [who is 10] was working on his math assignment at the dining room table.

[for those of you who don't know - most of my siblings are/have been home schooled]

mom and i were in the living room talking when he came out all proud of himself...

    'i'm done mom!'

'great honey - let me look at your work.'

    [he presents his paper]

'ummmm - jesse - what did you do here?'

'i thought it would be more interesting to write all my answers in roman numerals mom!'

    [me shaking head]

did i mention that there is never a dull moment?

  • I mean, at least he's creative

By the way, I loooove Guster. When I was in college, everyone and there mom was in love with all manner of indie, artsy, little-known bands - Guster being one of them. They came and played a couple times on campus. I can't remember which songs you mentioned in your comment, but I highly recommend Fa Fa, So Long, and Two Points For Honesty. But really, anything you can find is FABULOUS.

  • That is hilarious!  He'd get bonus points from me.

  • How cute is that!

  • Wow.  That is pretty impressive.  It would take have taken me forever to figure out how to convert all my math answers to roman numerals.  Yep--I'm with lump.  Bonus points fer shure.

  • bahahahahaha!!!  What a smarty!!!!

  • bahahahahaha!!!  What a smarty!!!!

  • btw:  sorry about the double comments....how old are your brothers and sisters?

  • I would've given him extra credit as well. It's always so impressive to me how much kids THINK (particularly kids who've been homeschooled)! LOVE it!

  • that is great! love it! also love the last post--such fun having family memories!

  • That sounds like something my oldest would have done at that age.  (And he was homeschooled.)  Fun times.
